Matilda Rose Ledger: Living Without Daddy

It has been almost a year since the tragic death of Heath Ledger, and Michelle Williams and daughter Matilda Rose have been spending the past 11+ months learning to live without him.

Thankfully, it sounds like the 3-year-old is having a positive effect on her mother, who has been having a difficult time with the loss. An inside source told press, "Matilda's a really upbeat kid who giggles all the time. That's the one thing Michelle says will make her smile no matter what — hearing her daughter laugh."

Following Ledger’s accidental death, it was hard to explain to Matilda what was actually going on. "Matilda never really understood what happened when he died. It was heartbreaking when she asked for daddy and Michelle had to explain that he wasn't coming back."

And it seems time has begun to heal Williams’ wounds. "Things are getting easier, little by little, day by day. Slowly she's come back from the shock and heartbreak."
