Madonna Files Adoption Paperwork
Ready to fill the void left by the absence of ex-husband Guy Ritchie, Madonna is ready to adopt another child from the African country of Malawi.
According to breaking reports, an official at the Malawi welfare department has confirmed the 50-year-old singer has filed paperwork in hopes of adding to her brood.
With Madge reportedly planning a trip to Malawi this weekend, her adoption request could make it to the hearing phase as soon as this Monday (March 30).
Talking about her desire to give son, David Banda, a fellow Malawian sibling, Madonna said, "Many people - especially our Malawian friends - say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister. It's something I have been considering but would only do if I had the support of the Malawian people and the government."
One possible roadblock in the "Like A Prayer" singer's way is said to be her recent divorce and fling with 22-year-old model Jesus Luz. "Our official policy is that we do not encourage our children to be sent into broken homes," a senior official from Malawi's Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Development told press. "Her relationships may negatively affect the adoption of Mercy."
