Lindsay Lohan Crashes Car, Gets Arrested

Forgoing the advice of her family and friends to stop her partying ways, Lindsay Lohan has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving on Saturday after crashing her Mercedes convertible in Beverly Hills shortly before dawn.

The 20-year-old 'Mean Girls' star - who could face more charges - was slightly injured after she lost control of her car traveling west on Sunset Boulevard at about 5:30 a.m., Beverly Hills police told the Associated Press. Lindsay had two passengers in her two-seat Mercedes, both of whom were uninjured.

After the wreck, Lindsay left the scene of the crash and was taken by an unidentified associate to Century City Doctors Hospital, Lt. Mitch McCann told the AP. Someone also drove off the heavily damaged Mercedes, which police located at a nearby condominium complex.

Responding to the 911 call, police ended up tracking down and arresting LiLo at the hospital. She was cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor, and released for treatment of a chest injury, McCann said.

To make matters worse, during a Sunday press conference cops said that they found a "usable amount" of a drug at the scene, which they say was cocaine. Lt. McCann, in attendance at the press conference, would not say where the drug was found, but it was "not on her person."

The case is expected to be presented to prosecutors this week, with Lindsay due in court on August 24.

The latest incident will most definitely curb her plans for a 21st birthday party in Vegas - which was to be sponsored by a Vodka company.
