Katie Holmes Breaks Out the Winter Shorts

Enjoying a warm-up in the weather, Katie Holmes was spotted breaking out the shorts as she left her New York City apartment on Sunday (December 28).

The former "Dawson's Creek" cutie paired her jean shorts with a black longsleeve top, grey scarf and a pair of tights as she made her way to an awaiting ride and over to the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater for the first of the day's two performances in "All My Sons".

In related news, it sound as if Katie and hubby Tom Cruise have been taking extra measures security-wise, as there have reportedly been death threats from anti-scientology protesters who have been angered by Cruise's decision to star in "Valkyrie".

"The threats are perceived to be so great that the FBI has been alerted....Tom is terrified. He doesn't feel safe anywhere," a source close to the couple told Daily Mail.
