Jude Law to Judge Heath Ledger Scholarship
Heath Ledger left a massive void in the entertainment industry when he died due to an overdose last year, and now Jude Law will be choosing the recipient of his annual scholarship award for 2009.
The “Alfie” actor has been selected as the judge of this year’s competition of Australian actors who want to pursue a career in America. Law stepped in to finish Ledger’s role in “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” following his death.
Jude told press, "I am delighted and honored to do what I can to keep Heath's legacy alive. He was a brilliant actor and a wonderful man and it is only fitting that this scholarship has been developed in his name."
The Australians in Film Heath Ledger Scholarship includes prize money of $10,000 and a round-trip ticket on Qantas airlines.
