Jessica Biel Commits Fashion Faux Pas
Jessica Biel has become the latest Hollywood star to fall victim to the awards night curse of turning up in a dress worn before by another celebrity.
The actress looked stunning in her trim-fitting metallic gown by Valentino at the Golden Globe Awards Show.
Meanwhile, eagle-eyed red carpet watchers quickly realized that it was the same one Hilary Swank wore to a Vanity Fair Oscars party in 2004.
Biel said it was "unfortunate", as the designer had told her that she was the first to wear the gown.
"I loved this dress and felt great in it," Biel told USA Today.
"It is unfortunate that I was told by Valentino no-one had ever worn the gown before, but I think Hilary has amazing style, and I'm flattered we share the same taste."
The designer also issued a statement, saying: "Valentino dresses are timeless, and each woman brings to them her own interpretation."
"Two beautiful actresses can be different and great even in the same dress."
Last year, it was Reese Witherspoon who committed an unwitting fashion faux pas, when her "vintage" Chanel number turned out to have been worn by Kirsten Dunst in 2003.
Later that evening, possibly due to the curse of the dress, Jessica Biel had a run-in with Cameron Diaz. According to eyewitnesses on the scene, Justin Timberlake was chatting with Jessica when Cameron approached. Biel, ever gracefully stepped away, and the former couple had a serious exchange, according to People. Not only did Cameron exchange words with Justin, she "blew up" at Jessica Biel as well.
Not the greatest night for Jessica, but she has the Academy Awards to look forward to. And you can be sure that she will look stunning in a dress that has not been worn by anyone but her!
