Jennifer Hudson: Best R&B Babe

Ever since she reemerged at the Super Bowl earlier this month, Jennifer Hudson has been consistently reclaiming her spot at the top of the R&B scene.

And earlier tonight at the 2009 Grammy Awards, held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Miss Hudson took home the Best R&B Album trophy. And it appeared she was at a loss for words.

Giving a gracious acceptance speech, Jennifer noted, “I don’t really know what to say. First of all, I got Whitney Houston presenting me [with my award]. Wow, I’m just in awe right now. First of all, I’d like to thank God who has brought me through. I’d like to thank my family in heaven and those who are here today… Clive Davis, Barry Weiss, everyone at Arista, [my fiance David Otunga], everybody, thank you all.”

The Grammy win is a much-needed highpoint for Miss Hudson, who lost her mother, brother, and nephew in a violent triple murder last year.
