Hugh Jackman Opens Up About Fatherhood
Ever the good father, Hugh Jackman was able to face the birds and the bees talk with his eight-year-old son, Oscar, rather early compared to most.
Opening up about the sticky situation, the "X-Men" star says, “He asks questions about it all the time so we had a father and son talk. He knows about it but we haven’t got into the intimate details.”
And, although these talks can be very uncomfortable, the 40-year-old action hunk says it wasn’t difficult at all. “It’s not awkward. My Dad never ever did it with me so I was very adamant that I was going to do it with my son.”
Being one himself, Jackman also filled his son in on the key to being a ladies’ man. “You just got to respect girls,” he told his son. “But he goes, ‘Dad are they hot, though?’ That’s what he always wanted to know.”
And what is on the list of no-no's? “I try to tell him that he cannot use me to get to them,” he said with a laugh.
Will there be any more talks like this from a new child in the future? Rumors have speculated that he and wife Deborra-Lee Furness want to adopt. Jackman says, “No, I’m not. It’s rumors but we sometimes think about it.”
