Happy Birthday Pete Wentz!

Today (June 5, 2007) marks the 28th birthday of Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz (officially Peter Lewis Kingston Wentz III). And you could be the one to wish him a belated birthday in person.

Cell phone company Nokia is running a special promotion. They are offering a chance to meet the band face to face by sending text message from a Nokia cell phone to 27166 with the letters FOB in the body of the text. By sending the message you will also recieve a free wallpaper of the band.

It’s all in an effort to boost Nokia’s reputation in the music download world. "We are also pleased to offer an exciting range of music focused devices including the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic that allows music fans to easily and affordably take their music with them."

But you gotta hurry if you want the chance to meet Pete. The contest ends in one month, July 5th. The winner gets to take two friends on an all-expense-paid trip to see the band.

And as soon as Ashlee Simpson’s new album hits stores, you can hear Pete in the studio with his girlfriend. Rumor has it that he’ll appear on the new disc.
