Cynthia Rodriguez Talks Divorce
Cynthia Rodriguez, former wife of Yankees' All-Star Alexander Rodriguez, says that her split from the slugger has had a major affect on her family.
In her first interview since filing for divorce on Monday, the 34-year-old told that nobody in her “close-knit family” has ever gotten divorced before and it has been a major blow.
Although she didn’t mention the infidelity accusations she made against A-Rod and Madonna
after the news broke of her husband’s late night trips to the Material Girl’s home, she simply stated: “I needed to think, I needed to clear my head.”
Under the advisement of her lawyers, Cynthia dismissed the rumor that she had spent $100,000 of the Yankee slugger’s money in order to punish him.
"Not one word of those stories is true," she said. "I did not spend one dollar shopping in Paris. I did not go to super-fancy expensive restaurants. I did not go to any spa. I didn't do one thing."
Cynthia also stated that she had not taken a trip without her husband for the past thirteen years of their relationship, but that A-Rod “encouraged” her to go to Paris where she stayed with singer and pal Lenny Kravitz.
Of this, Cynthia told: "I needed to get away, with clear-headed friends, to breathe…to think how I'm going to handle my kids. I just needed a little time. My husband and I were already into our problems and I didn't know where to go, what to do."
