Claire Danes Talks Pumpkins At Evening Premiere

The tiny state of Rhode Island was a happening place last night (June 11). The special occasion was the debut of the movie "Evening," filmed largely in the cities of Newport and Tiverton last fall.

Those in attendance included actresses Claire Danes and Mamie Gummer, who co-star in the film, along with the director Lajos Koltai, producer Jeff Sharp and screenwriter Michael Cunningham.

Danes, who looked lovely (as she did the previous evening at the Tony Awards), told the Newport Daily News of a specific memory of Rhode Island unrelated to the movie. "I think of pumpkins," she said. "We went out to get pumpkins at Sweet Berry Farm (in Middletown). It was so much fun. It was that time of year."

Not only does Claire think of pumpkins when Rhode Island is mentioned - she actually has close ties to 'The Ocean State.'

Danes said, "My parents are artists and met at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design). I'd never been to Rhode Island, but it's a big part of my history."
