Carrie Underwood Talks Michael Jackson Grammy Tribute
Gearing up for two big weekends in a row, Carrie Underwood is preparing to take part in the a tribute to Michael Jackson at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night (January 31).
Ready to rehearse alongside fellow performers Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion and Smokey Robinson, the "American Idol" alum tells of the gig: "The Grammys obviously wanted to pay tribute to Michael Jackson and his music, so they wanted to do something that he was passionate about."
Continuing on, Miss Underwood tells MTV News: "So, they asked all of us, I guess five of us, to be a part of it. ... I've met Usher. Obviously, I've met Jennifer Hudson. I think I've met all of them actually, but I don't think I've ever sang with any of them, so I'm really very excited to be even considered in that group of names."
"Hopefully, [the tribute performers are] people that he respected and liked," Carrie added. "I'm just honored they asked me. Of course, we said yes before we knew the details. I'm there, and I think it will be a really cool moment on the show."
The following week, fans of the country darling can catch her singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl!
