Carla Bruni and Nicolas Sarkozy's NYC Awards Night

He’s been thoroughly enjoying his time here in the United States, and last night Nicolas Sarkozy was bestowed a great honor as his wife Carla Bruni-Sarkozy looked on.

The French President was given the World Statesman Award by Rabbi Arthur Schneier at the Appeal of Conscience Foundation’s 2008 Annual Awards Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City.

And he looked slick in a black pinstripe suit complete with white shirt and black tie, while his wife kept things casual-yet sexy in a sleeveless black knee-length dress.

The night before, the Sarkozys were spotted hanging out with Hollywood royalty Michael Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones at the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity Awards Dinner.
