Stepping up for a swanky evening, Carey Mulligan was spotted at the 2010 National Board of Review Awards Gala in New York City last night (January 12).

The “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps” actress looked simple and sexy in a black dress as she made her way inside Cipriani 42nd Street.

And it sounds like Miss Mulligan will be going up against a vampire lover for the Orange Rising Star Bafta Award on February 21st.

Carey will be competing with “Twilight” hottie Kristen Stewart for the title, with both women having quite a year in 2009.
