Britney Spears Spends Weekend in Mexico

With her custody battle with Kevin Federline finally resolved, Britney Spears headed off for a weekend in Cabo San Lucas with her pal George Maloof, who's the owner of the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Down south in Mexico for a few days of relaxation, the "Gimme More" singer was spotted arriving in town - then being escorted to a luxurious spread, complete with big white umbrellas surrounding the patio area to ensure as much privacy as possible.

In related news, it was just announced on Friday that Ms Spears is among the nominees of the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, as she's up for Best Female Music Video for "Piece of Me."

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Britney also officially relinquished full custody of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, on Friday - although she did receive expanded visitation by doing so.
