Britney Spears: Restraining Order Update

Posted Sunday February 1, 2009 8:52 AM GMT

L.A. Superior Court had a busy day on Friday, as Britney Spears’ lawyers arrived to receive restraining orders against former manager, Sam Lutfi and ex, Adnan Ghalib.

The 27-year-old “Womanizer” singer is under the permanent conservatorship of her father, Jamie. TMZ reports that Spears asked her conservators to “protect her from Sam and Adnan” because she is scared of them.

Lufti served as Brit’s manger from 2007 to early 2008 while the paparazzo Ghalib dated her for three months last winter. It's also being reported that Spears hoped they would be sent to jail.

Court filings apparently tell that Spear’s conservators suppose Lutfi and Ghalib were trying to gain complete and total control of her affairs. Jon Eardley, Lutfi’s lawyer, also has been named in the court injunction.

“On the first anniversary of the establishment of the conservatorship, the co-conservators are informed and believe that these three figures are working in concert to disrupt the conservatorship, with an utter disregard for Ms. Spears’ health and well being,” the documents recorded.

A temporary restraining order prohibits Ghalib, Lutfi and Eardley from contacting Spears, her parents and sons, 3 year-old Sean Preston and 2-year-old Jayden James.

Lutfi has been trying to contact Spears through her hairdresser and one of her father’s lawyers, according to court documents. Lutfi also is accused of sending “anonymous, harassing and threatening” messages to Jamie.

The papers continue saying that Jamie alleges that his daughter still tells Ghalib of her whereabouts "and that he then arranges for paparazzi to meet and film her to his financial benefit.”

The hearing is set for February 23, although the temporary restraining order for Lutfi isn't set to expire until July. The original restraining order against him was filed in February of 2008, accusing him of drugging her, cutting off her home phone line and interfering with medical treatment.

"Britney has made clear to everyone that she does not want to be further harassed or contacted in any way by Osama 'Sam' Lutfi, now or at any time in the future," Spears' court-appointed attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III, told the AP at the time. Lutfi also released a statement: "Mr. Lutfi and Mr. Spears have mutually agreed in private that no hearing or order is necessary at this time.”

Earlier in 2007, Spears’ parents were already weary of Lutfi and felt she was being taken advantage by him and her ex-manager.

Ghalib and Spears got together in 2008, around the time she was hospitalized twice for mental health issues. A source told Us in November that the song "Mmm Papi," on her platinum album Circus, is about him.
