Beyonce and Jay-Z Tie The Knot

Rumors began to fly earlier this week when Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z obtained a marriage license at Village Hall in Scarsdale, New York on Tuesday. And now we know why they did- yesterday (4.4.08) the longtime couple finally got hitched.

While there’s no official confirmation yet, a friend of the couple spilled the beans to press about the intimate affair that took place yesterday. "It happened earlier this evening. Jay wanted it to be a really private affair – close friends and family."

And afterwards, there was a luxurious party at the “99 Problems” rapper’s Tribeca penthouse apartment where he apparently spared no expense. Earlier in the day, 50,000-60,000 orchids were delivered, as well as candelabras, and only the finest food and drink.

In the past, the “Bootylicious” singer had mentioned that she prefers a smaller ceremony rather than a huge bash. "I never pictured myself as a bride, but after my sister's wedding, I did start thinking about what kind of wedding I'd want. I don't think I want a big one."
