Ashlee Simpson: Shrek Sweetheart

Treating herself to a little theater culture, Ashlee Simpson was spotted at the Broadway show “Shrek the Musical” last night in New York City.

The “Pieces of Me” singer was in good spirits as she exited the theater and was greeted by eagerly waiting fans and paparazzi.

Meanwhile over on the West Coast Ashlee’s older sister Jessica was busy paying a visit to the Los Angeles County Jail to try and bail out her gal pal/makeup artist Mary Phillips, who had been arrested for being drunk in public.

An insider explained, "She was arrested for being drunk in public, and she was not released to Jessica because you can't release someone who has not sobered up. They're going to release her a little later when she's sobered up. I don't know what time that will be. It could be a minimum of 6 to probably 8 hours."
