Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz: So Long, Sydney

Drawing an end to their stay overseas in Sydney, Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson were spotted making their way through the local airport on Saturday (March 28).

The "La La" singer and her Fall out Boy rocker hubby were in the Land Down Under for the 2009 MTV Australia Awards, an event which Pete hosted on Friday evening.

And while there's been rumors of trouble in the marriage, the pair did their best to dash those claims - as Ashlee made a surprise appearance during the night's show, giving her man a big smooch in front of the cameras.

According to People magazine reports, Ashlee "explained she had been busy with some acting work going on and just being a mom before instructing the crowd to grab the person next to you."

After leaving the stage, the couple returned a short while later, holding hands and kissing for "several minutes" with Pete telling the audience, "Sorry, we haven't seen each other in a while. We're going to go and find some quiet time and fornicate somewhere."
