Anna Nicole Update: Birkhead's The Daddy

With another chapter in the Anna Nicole Smith saga now closed, the results of the DNA paternity test have confirmed that Larry Birkhead, an entertainment photojournalist, is the biological father of baby Dannielynn. The seven-month-old girl has been at the center of a bitter paternity dispute since she was born in the Bahamas last September.

The closed session at a Bahamian court was attended by both Birkhead, and Anna Nicole's lawyer-turned-partner, Howard K. Stern, whose name appears on the birth certificate of Dannielynn.

According to CNN reports, Dr. Michael Baird, who performed the test, said he was 99.99 percent sure that Birkhead is the biological father of Smith's daughter.

The baby, whose full name is Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern, could inherit millions from the estate of Smith's late husband and Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II. The battle may not be over just yet, though. There has been speculation that Anna Nicole's blood-sucking mother-in-law, Virgie Arthur, will pose a challenge to Birkhead.

TMZ reports that Arthur proclaimed she "looks forward to working" with Larry. Her attorney then suggested that Arthur would seek dual guardianship with Birkhead.
