Amy Winehouse: Better Late Than Never

Not one to make a priority of being on time, Amy Winehouse' father had to stand in for and accept an award for his tardy daughter at the Ivor Novello Awards in London on Thursday (May 22).

"Amy unfortunately couldn't make it," Mitch Winehouse told guests at the 53-year-old British event, where his daughter took top honors with Love Is a Losing Game.

Not realizing that Amy was just running behind schedule, Mitch added: "She's getting better, and she sends you all her love."

Sure enough, however, the troubled Rehab singer finally made it to the festivities, telling the BBC that she was "very well" and "very excited and very flattered" to have won.
