American Idol Officially Introduces Kara DioGuardi

It’s been the buzz surrounding American Idol all week, and yesterday (August 26) Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul officially welcomed Kara DioGuardi to their judges team.

The American Idol peeps all convened at Chelsea Piers in New York City for a red carpet press event where they posed for pictures and answered questions.

Cowell lent his overwhelming support to DioGuardi, telling press, “It’s like, you know, having dinner with three people for seven years, and getting quite bored of each other. So it’s having a fourth person, new opinion, I think it’s gonna be interesting.”

He even managed to slip in a compliment or two. “Kara has a good reputation of A, having hits; and B, having an opinion. And that’s a good combination. And she’s cute.”
