Abbie Cornish Talks Relationship

Although she is an actress starring in a new movie Bright Star, Abbie Cornish rose to fame in a different way than acting in the U.S. Two years ago she costarred in the real-life drama with Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon.

Cornish and Phillippe met on the set of Stop-Loss and now the couple shares a home in Los Angeles, “where it was love that brought me here, not work,” she told W magazine. “I think the city feels and looks a little bit different because of that.”

Witherspoon considered the divorce humiliating and isolating while 27-year-old Cornish says it was also a “really difficult time for me.”

She entered the world of tabloids and paparazzi “that I’d never been exposed to. In a normal successful career, someone usually learns these things bit by bit. For me, it was like night and day. I woke up one day and there was this whole new thing I had to process and deal with.”

Since meeting Phillippe she has moved in with him and spends time with his and Reese’s children, Ava, 9, and Deacon, 5.

As far as engagement, she says, “No,” and as far as the future she says, “I don’t know.” Adding she says, “I think I’m nearly ready to go on to another part of the conversation.”
