Carrie Underwood: BBC Radio 2 Babe

Posted Monday June 18, 2012 11:03 AM GMT

Promoting her new album Blown Away, Carrie Underwood was spotted at BBC Radio 2 studios in London, England today (June 18).

The “Jesus Take the Wheel” songstress donned a striped top teamed with a black blazer and grey trousers as she smiled for the fans and shutterbugs that gathered to greet her.

However, Carrie hasn’t made any friends with conservative Christian groups here in the States, who have been criticizing her for using the Bible to approve of gay marriage rights.

One pastor from the Nashville area told press, "What she said in that interview, unfortunately, has increasingly become a pretty broken understanding of what the Bible is saying. You want to listen to the Scripture in terms of what it says about everything, including marriage, including sexuality."

However Jimmy LaSalvia of GOProud fired back, "You know, Carrie Underwood isn’t any different from anyone else in America. The more Americans think about how issues affect their gay friends and family the more they come to realize that supporting same-sex civil marriage is the right thing to do. More and more people are coming to that conclusion - and that includes conservative Christians."
