With the grand UK showcase coming to an end, the 2012 BRIT Awards have named the year’s big winners during an exciting O2 Arena ceremony in London, England on Tuesday night (February 21).
Taking home the top prize of Best British album and a total of two trophies was Adele, while other big winners included the Coldplay as Best British group, Ed Sheernan as Best British Male/British Breakthrough Act and One Direction landing Best Single for their track titled "What Makes You Beautiful".
It's one of the biggest night's of the year when it comes to European music celebrations, and the 2012 BRIT Awards are underway in London, England.
Held at the the O2 Arena, the proceedings are being hosted by James Corden with a red carpet packed with stars such as Nicole Scherzinger, Adele, Olly Murs, Emma Bunton, Victoria Justice and Cher Lloyd.
The show aims to “celebrate the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film, and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors,” and this year’s NAACP Image Awards nominees have been announced.

Having revealed the esteemed artists in the running for the top prizes in music, the 2012 Grammy Nominations Concert took place in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday night (November 30).
Held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, the LL Cool J hosted ceremony saw Kanye West top the pack with seven chances at Grammy glory while British singer Adele scored six nominations in categories including Song of the Year, Record of the Year and the grand prize of Album of the Year for her heralded disc "21".
