Bobby Long: Blog Entry #2
Hey
After arriving in LA from New York i was still excited about what had
happened in New York and sad to leave. We drove down from the airport to the hotel and already the heat was far more intense than the apple.
We arrived at the hotel and pulled up to its open floor. We were staying at the Andaz Hyatt the newly refurbished hotel on sunset. Again it felt like we shouldnt of been been there but the staff and a man called Dean sweapt us away to our room which overlooked LA (THis was all thanks to a travel Agent called Penny who really helped us out and got us student rates and apple cream cakes). Ive always been a bit sceptical about LA. I honestly never thought that i would go there if an oppurtunity was to arrise to go to america i would always of blindly chosen NY, Chicago or San Francisco.
But here i was in Hollywood trying to restle together some kind of day before my first gig at the Hotel Cafe. I have always wanted to play the Cafe and it was the first place in America i looked at and wanted it. To have sold it out was a great feeling and just
intensified my will to put on a great show.
The show went really well. I wanted to come across like i enyoyed it all and not that i was tired but it got a really good reasponse. The fight halfway through the set was really funny and the crowd were really nice. By the evening i had setteled enough into the swing of things to really appreciate where i was and had forgotten about missing New York.
THe show at the Whiskey was a weird one. I played good though. THe last show at the hotel Cafe was a really fragile and amazing experience. I really didnt want it to end. it was fragile beacuse i realised that moments on stage like that dont happen that often and that it was my last night in LA I dont understand the place but i think thats the point you dont need to. Its like Vegas with a shimmer of reality. THe people were so friendly to me and i look foraward to giong back. Its really fuin doing this and i still have Nashville and a kid called Sam Bradley to see so its back on a plane and starting all over again.
I like LA.
