Ashley Judd Gets Blasted by Coalminers
She’s an outspoken opponent of mountaintop coal mining in her home state of Kentucky, but Ashley Judd is getting attacked by pro-mining efforts that are using her picture.
The town of Prestonburg is hosting a golf tournament and a large poster of the “Kiss The Girls” actress is being displayed with an unflattering message attached.
The poster reads, “Ashley Judd makes a living taking off her top. Why can’t coal miners?” The slogan is referring to a picture from her 2003 Marie Claire article.
Speaking out against mountaintop coal mining, Judd said, "It is time to retire the cynical and superficial coal company-created argument that we must choose between people, their jobs, and our mountains. That is simply false, fear-based and fear-mongering."
