Ashlee Simpson Files for Divorce from Pete Wentz

Making for quite the sudden and saddening news, reports tell that Ashlee Simpson has filed for divorce from Pete Wentz.

Having been married back in May of 2008, the "Pieces of Me" singer submitted legal papers in Los Angeles Superior Court to end her marriage, according to TMZ.

Miss Simpson, whose big sister Jessica has also been divorced, cited the catchall "irreconcilable differences" as the reasoning behind the breakup.

With no prenup having been signed, Ashlee is said to be seeking "joint legal custody and primary physical custody" of her and Pete's 2-year-old Bronx while hiring Laura Wasser as her lawyer.
